My Life in a Camerashell: January 2006

The Minturn Mile.....

The day started off cloudy and snowy but by the time we did the mile the sun was out:)

half way through the mile we ran into some other friends and we ended up drinking a beer or two....

and then it was off to La Bottega with College friends and the sista....where we drank 2 bottles of wine(after the Minturn Saloon Margs...)

we finished off the evening at the good old Sandbar and I still managed to make it up on the mountain by 9:)fresh powder has a way of getting a girl out of bed:)

Christmas was celebrated a little late this year at the Sonnenalp.....

I volunteered to have these stunning men inflate balloons and stuff them in a dress that i put on, then i danced on a chair and lost "most sexy" to Jeff in engineering:(

so, he arrived in Vail on the 1st and we went out to an amazing Ludwig's dinner......

I finally dragged Victor out to dinner and met Dawn, his wife. We celebrated Victor's B-day and Scott's arrival:)with good food and lots of wine.....

who could have known that the next four days of riding would be incredible powder days...Jeff and Matt(some of Scott's friends)joined us and we all enoyed the fresh pow together.....

we hiked way out to somewhere one day and the weather was perfect, actually it was super hot.

On our third day of riding together we were pretty tired but decided to push ourselves out to do the Minturn Mile. We were stuck in a white out on the hike up the ridge but as soon as we dropped into the wide open field of trees it was..orgasmic....i swear....incredible powder...fresh lines all the way down...ahhhh

Jeff fell into the creek on a little section that we had to hike...and I, well I thought it was a Kodak moment...bad friend.:)

Ok, so that is me up there with Matt....and although that rock doesn't look that big...the drop felt big to me....and i landed it and rode it out....and looked forward to margaritas all the way down t minturn.....

here we all are....walking to the minturn saloon to drink our fill of margs....it was such a wonderful day.....such an incredible week.....great company, no stress, tons of powder, some sun every now and then........lots of laughs

thanks for visiting me Scott.......you are one hell of a friend:) wonder if i can entice you with phone calls on powder days...and get you back out here again!!??mmmmm...

New Year's Eve: I went out to dinner with Katherine, her brother, and his wife. We had a great 4-course meal at Up the Creek...the only problem:Kath was called to work by starbucks....our plan was to get her drunk...well it turned out that we all ended up drinking a whole bottle of wine each.....

it turned out we all went in to work at starbucks and snack on whatever we found in the store!

we went to Ru and Gregs house(greg was working that night) and they had a couple of people over. I ended up taking a nap from 11-11:30(remember i had a bottle of wine)for those who know me after wine, it is amazing that i made it to midnight!

veronika and I didn't have far to walk home.....

but somehow she managed to bury herself in snow:)

Apres Ski with Ruthie, Robert, and Gesche....

Robert and Gesche(his fiance) came all the way from Germany and visited for a week....

next time I will see them will be at their wedding in Germany at the end of July:)

Shortly after Christmas I got an e-mail from my venezuelan friend Andres(a friend from Boarding school). He told me he was in Breckenridge for a wedding. So off i was the next morning to pick him up. It had been 7 years!!!! We spent the day together on Vail Mountain....nothing like catching up with an old friend:)
